The Bride Who Wouldn't

This is a Honeymoon Novella. It is book 1.
This story is set in Paris.
It is the story of Kate Edwards and Isaak Zaretsky.
Kate has been helping her friend, Ivor, study his genealogy. He has some family mysteries that need solved. Kate's family business is failing, and Ivor decides to try to help Kate with this. He has made a contract for one year of marriage in exchange for money to help get the family business out of debt. There will be no sex and they will only appear married when they are in the public eye. Before the wedding can take place, Ivor suddenly dies.
Isaak, who is Ivor's nephew, has knowledge of the contract. He tells Kate she can either pay back the money or agree to marry him. Kate, having no way of paying back the money, contacts her mother. Her mother, only thinking of herself, thinks it is a good idea to have Kate marry Isaak instead to keep the money for the business.
After she agrees to marry Isaak, they head to Paris to honeymoon. There they find out some answers to things in Isaak's family that were not known. They also discover a hidden desire and passion for each other. Is there honeymoon pretend? Or is it more real than either of them know? Did Ivor set a plan in motion before his death that would bring Kate and Isaak together?
I enjoyed this story immensely. It was fast paced, intriguing, and grabbed my attention early in the story. I will definitely read more from author Carol Marinelli.

Looking to add a little spice to your summer?

In order to save her family's antique business, Kate Edwards agrees to and accepts payment for a one-year, sexless, loveless marriage to Ivor Zaretsky. Unfortunately, Ivor dies before they are married. Since Kate has already spent the money, it is left up to Ivor's nephew, Isaak, to come up with a suitable arrangement. Tired of his own ruthless, playboy ways, he offers Kate the same deal and she is forced to accept. The Bride Who Wouldn't by Carol Marinella is the first in a new series of Honeymoon novellas. Be warned, this is one hot and spicy read! Although spicier than I am used to, I thought the story was very well done. The plot is interesting and has depth and there are a few different storylines woven throughout. If you can handle to heat, I would recommend it.

Smoking hot story

The Bride Who Wouldn't by Carol Marinelli is quite the smoky hot story. It’s much more that a normal classic romance. It’s quite “hot” and very well written. It flows so easily of the pages and you don’t want to put it down before reading it all the way through.
It’ my first story by Carol Marinelli but I enjoyed reading this one and will pick up another one soon.

About the Author
Gloria Konig Fiero was born and raised in New York City. She earned her Masters degree in Art History at the University of California, Berkeley, and her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Humanities at the Florida State University. She has taught Humanities, World History, and Art History for more than twenty-five years. She has written and lectured extensively on medieval and renaissance topics and on the arts of both East and West as they reflect the human condition. She currently divides her time between New Orleans, Louisiana, and New York City.

Pretty good, for a textbook

I rented this book for my Humanities 201 class, and I thought that it was gonna be the exact same as most other textbooks: boringly written in boring style with boringly boring boredom printed everywhere. This one isn't like that! It's hard to make a textbook on history interesting but the author of this book sure gave it a shot and it turned out pretty well. Instead of just listing events it talks more about how cultures and civilizations influenced each other across the globe and through the years. It is much easier to learn about humanity when you're focussing on the bigger picture, not looking at the little pieces with scrutiny. There are excerpts from historical texts to add a sense of authenticity to the lessons, and the online resources are actually very helpful as well.

I know that if you're getting this for a college class you probably don't have a choice on what book to buy, but if you're assigned this one then it won't be bad at all!

Outstanding Anatomy/Physiology text for high school and introductory college

Excellent basic introduction to Anatomy and Physiology. While there have been criticisms of the lighter nature of details of molecular level explanations, what this book does is a fantastic job of instruction. Organization of each chapter by systems, Chapter 6 for example, starts with some molecular details such as the myofibril, synaptic vesicle, excitation and contraction, moves on to important histology of striated, smooth, and cardiac muscle, then to the anatomy of muscles, function, and finally some muscular conditions and diseases as they relate to the prior concepts presented. Illustrations and color plates in the text and the lab manual are outstanding, and questions highlighted in red (placed throughout the text) are keyed to answers in an appendix, helping guide the reader to an understanding of the material. This text is interesting reading too !

A Good Beginner's Guide to Scribus

A good beginner's guide to Scribus. Hundreds of cropped screenshots illustrate the text and make it easy to follow. A bit too simplistic in some respects, but I did learn a few things that I didn't already know about Scribus, and that made the nominal price worthwhile. The fact that this is a very quick and easy read indicates that the author did his job of presenting the core material very well.

Great Book For Rank Beginners

Good for the absolute first-timer. I have the Kindle edition and find that the inline images mixed with text is very distracting. I find myself reading the same thing over a few times before I understand it. I hope the print edition is better. I wanted more information, however. I found the book somewhat lacking in depth (which is not all bad, like I said, this book is great for beginners). But where the book leaves off, one can jump off with the Scribus Wiki. So, in that regard, if you're new to Scribus (and new to DTP), this may be a great book for you. If you have a little experience with DTP and/or Scribus, this book may best be regarded as a quick-reference guide. If you are familiar with DTP and just want a quick overview of Scribus, I would recommend the project's Wiki.
